DIY Storage Projects: 5 Creative Ideas For Your Home

Are you spending a lot of time indoors right now? Thanks to winter’s cold weather, blowing snow, frozen roads, and early sunsets it’s common for homeowners in the Roaring Fork Valley to be nesting this time of year. However, you don’t have to stop checking projects off your to-do list. The “Honey Do List” does not stop growing during winter’s doldrums; in fact, it only gets bigger. We recommend staying productive with indoor DIY projects during winter. Here are 5 creative ideas for DIY storage projects.

We found this ideas from one of our favorite Instagram profiles: Lowe’s Home Improvement. If you like these, be sure to follow @loweshomeimprovement for a daily post.

1. How about a “drop zone”?

Lowes encourages to “create a drop zone by teaming an existing piece of furniture with wall and floor spots for grab-and-go items.” We love this creative blend of mailboxes and a stock dresser.

2. Don’t ignore your garage!

“Get your garage in gear with storage ideas,” advises Lowes via Instagram. “Turn unfinished kitchen cabinets into colorful, customized storage for your garage.”

3. Stop wasting precious space…

This custom workstation offers ample work space and storage in every nook. The desk comes together easily using Lowe’s storage cubes as a base. Open niches, fabric bins, and a bulletin board ensure every supply and resource has a home.

4. Small space is worth attention.

Lowes says: “Remove that old medicine cabinet and create a tiled niche for small storage space!” Jenna Burger, an interior design expert, has details on her blog about an easy, DIY bathroom remodel. Check out her blog here for more information and tips.

5. Get rid of the shoe piles with a cool, creative project.

“Cut down on those shoe piles around the home,” advises Lowes. “Create a designated spot with this DIY Shoe Bin!” Lil’ Luna is a fun blog to bookmark, and here are their tips on a DIY shoe bin.

If you ever need project ideas or tips on how to achieve a goal, be sure to contact us at Aspen RentAll. We love this stuff and have tons of information to pass along.
